Matrix Fight Night 7th Edition: Round-Up of MFN 7

Matrix Fight Night 7th Edition: Round-Up of MFN 7

Sanctioned by Global Authority for Mixed Martial Arts Federation (GAMMAF) and governed by the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association, Matrix Fight Night is back with its 7th edition, this time at Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad.

We witnessed seasoned MMA fighters drop some aggressive action and bring their combat expertise to entertain audiences in a knockout tournament. Every punch, kick, grapple, submission, and eventual knockout brought in the element of excitement fused with a potent ability to execute Mixed Martial Art attack and defence combinations.

Presenting to you MFN 7, this coveted event was organised by the Shroff family in their efforts to enhance the visibility and exposure of MMA to the Indian society. After a series of successful Matrix Fight Night showdowns held thrice in Dubai, twice in Mumbai, and once in Delhi, we were privileged to watch 18 professional MMA athletes tap into rage mode, spread across 9 bouts.

Not to forget, MFN 7 had two notable international fighters ready to take the stage by storm for the main event.

Events

The 9 bouts were set within a pool of 18 established and intimidating MMA fighters. With both male and female competitors, we watched an absolute bloodbath through expert MMA professionals' movement dynamics, attack variations, and defence techniques.

While the categories in the undercard ranged from flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight, the categories in the much-awaited fight card ranged from lightweight, strawweight, featherweight, and bantamweight.

A few of the combat masters present were the KO Artist (Sumeet Khade), the Psycho (Dhruv Chaudhary), Captain Crazy (Srikant Sekhar), Slam King (Angad Bisht), The Coorgi Boy (Clinton Dcruz), and Cobra Queen (Jojo Rajkumari). Hailing from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Manipur, respectively, there were additional fighters who brought in greater diversity.

Combining their combat etiquette and an arsenal of deadly MMA moves, we, at MMA Matrix, and the global MMA community, were guaranteed an action-packed MFN 7, which left us craving to enhance our martial arts skillset.

Co-Main Event

Sumeet Khade and Dhruv Chaudhary, better known as KO Artist and Psycho, took over the main stage for the co-main event. Their rivalry spans over several years, and they had a score to settle. Considering their soaring high energy levels and inevitable fits of rage, all MMA fans were treated with a fantastic watch.

Eventually, Dhruv settled their trilogy scoreline by adding another technical knockout (TKO) victory to his name by the end of it.

Main Event

Marcelo Guarilha, better known as Guara, hails from Brazil and comes with a considerably strong record of 16 victories amongst his 24 professional MMA bouts. Amongst his successes, he deservedly pocketed 5 TKOs and 10 submissions. When an MMA fighter of such calibre showcases statistics stating 10 submission-based victories, he’s a definite threat to battle against!

On the other hand, we had Abdul Azim Badakhshi, better known as The Afghan Lion. His Afghanistani roots come soaked with insane endurance and high-power combat moves. Even better, his record stands at 11 victories amongst his 14 bouts. Keep in mind, 9 of these victories came from technical knockouts and 2 through submissions. With an 82% win ratio through TKOs, we indeed did witness another bashing.

MFN 7 made a wise call by pitting fighters with combat specialities unique to themselves.

Who do you think bossed the main event on this 10th of December?

It was the Afghan Lion! His deep-rooted grasp on the technicalities of disrupting opponent movements helped him bag another TKO and take his TKO victories tally to 10.
